FAQs

So you like what you see and you hate shopping and, well, just haven’t had much luck on your own. But you still have some questions. That’s okay—here are answers to some of the most common questions:

How does it work?

We schedule a quick, casual and complimentary Initial Interview, usually at your office or home, or even a local coffee shop if you prefer. We talk through your styling and shopping goals and decide on the appropriate service to meet your needs. No matter what service you start with, I’m always a phone call, e-mail or text away if you need advice or have questions.

What should I wear to the fitting?

Wear something you feel fits you well and that you are comfortable in. It’s not essential, but if possible, try to wear your favorite outfit to the Fitting. That way we can talk about what you like and what you’d like to change. If you wear a jacket or heavy sweater or sweatshirt, it is advised that you remove them prior to being measured.

I’m embarrassed—do you have to measure me?

Nothing to be embarrassed about…Personal Shopping is just that—personal. Fittings are done privately and all profiles are confidential. What happens at the Fitting, stays at the Fitting!

Is the cost of clothing included in the cost of Styling and Shopper services?

No. You must purchase any selected items or garments. The cost of clothing is not included in the cost for Styling and Shopper services. Payment for Styling and Shopper services is due at the time of service.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover) are accepted.

Will there be any example clothing or fabrics at the fitting?

For Trumaker Fit Appointments, I will have a lookbook with fabric swatches and some sample garments, such as button-up shirts, available. For other styling appointments, we may review a digital style board at the Fitting.

How much does the Fitting Cost? How about if I need to be re-measured?

Fittings are included in the cost of other Styling and Shopper services. There is no additional charge for the Fitting, even for subsequent Fittings.

Same goes for Trumaker Fit Appointments. After you lock in your fit, if anything changes, just let me know and I’ll happily refit you and get your profile updated, free of charge.

Can I invite my friends, coworkers or family?

Yes, the more the merrier! I often do group office appointments, happy hours and even couples’ parties.

How long are appointments?

The Initial Interview usually takes about an hour depending on your styling needs. Fittings take about a half hour, and can be combined with the Initial Interview,

Closet Audit or Shopping Trip. Closet Audits and Shopping Trips will vary depending on how deep your closet is, or how many garments we need to purchase for you.

If I just want custom-fit shirts, can I order from the Trumaker website?

Yes! The initial order must be placed through me, your local Outfitter. But, after you confirm your fit, you will receive a login to your own personal Trumaker store and will be able to order online, any time. Of course, I’m always just a phone call, text or e-mail away if you have any questions or want to see new products or fabrics in person.
